The State Special Transport Service has received pyrotechnic machines for transporting large-calibre explosive ordnance, purchased with funds provided by the European Union. The machines are designed for the safe transportation of large-calibre explosive items discovered during clearance operations.
«Large-calibre munitions, such as aerial bombs and heavy artillery shells, require special transportation conditions. The machines we have received allow us to safely transport such items to designated destruction sites,» said a representative of the State Special Transport Service.
The equipment was handed over during a ceremony in Kyiv attended by representatives of the European Union Delegation to Ukraine.
The State Special Transport Service is one of the key actors in humanitarian demining in Ukraine, responsible for transporting and destroying explosive ordnance recovered during clearance operations.
