The Ukrainian demining machine UDM Vormela has received a certificate of conformity. The machine, developed and produced in Ukraine, successfully passed testing and was certified for use in humanitarian demining.
"The Vormela is another proof that Ukrainian engineers can create demining machines that meet the highest standards. The successful certification means the machine is ready for field use in humanitarian demining operations," said Ihor Bezkaravainyi, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.
The UDM Vormela underwent comprehensive testing at a specialised testing ground, where it demonstrated its capabilities in soil processing, vegetation clearing, and resistance to mine detonations. The machine received high marks from certification specialists.
"The Vormela is designed specifically for Ukrainian conditions — it takes into account the specifics of our soils, vegetation, and types of contamination. This gives it advantages over foreign analogues," noted the machine's developer.
The certification was conducted by the State Research Institute for Testing and Certification of Weapons and Military Equipment. The process included a full cycle of testing in conditions simulating real demining operations.
"Each new certified Ukrainian machine strengthens our self-sufficiency and reduces dependence on imports. The Vormela adds to the growing fleet of domestically produced demining equipment," emphasised the Deputy Minister.
The manufacturer plans to launch serial production of the machine in the near future.
