State compensation program: operators cleared over a thousand hectares of farmland
March 27, 2025
State programme for compensating the cost of demining: operators have cleared more than a thousand hectares of agricultural land. This milestone confirms the growing momentum of the compensation programme.
"More than a thousand hectares cleared under the compensation programme — this is a significant milestone. The programme has proven that combined efforts of the state, operators, and farmers can deliver large-scale results," said Ihor Bezkaravainyi, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.
The cleared hectares are spread across several regions, with the largest volumes in Kharkiv, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions. Multiple certified operators participated in the clearance.
"The thousand-hectare mark is important not only as a number but as validation that the programme design is sound. Transparent auctions, competitive pricing, and quality control — all elements work as intended," noted the Deputy Minister.
The programme continues to expand with new applications from farmers and new auctions being announced regularly. The state budget provides ongoing funding for the programme.
"We aim to accelerate further. The demand from farmers is high, and we are working to ensure that the supply of demining services matches this demand," emphasised Bezkaravainyi.
