Funds raised through the UNITED24 platform can be used to pay for demining services

The government has authorised the use of funds raised through the UNITED24 fundraising platform for the Ministry of Economy's account to pay for humanitarian demining services. The corresponding amendments to the Procedure were adopted during today's session of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
«The adopted changes primarily allow us to open targeted fundraising campaigns on the UNITED24 platform for community demining. We are giving our friends and partners the opportunity to choose what they want to prioritise: the purchase of demining equipment, machinery, or to allocate funds for the Center for Humanitarian Demining to pay for clearance of specific sites,» said Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Ihor Bezkaravainyi.
The amendments allow the Center for Humanitarian Demining to submit requests to the Ministry of Economy for the allocation of funds accumulated in the Ministry's account through UNITED24 for demining of territories.
As of January, the Ministry of Economy's account held almost UAH 53 million raised through the UNITED24 platform. In total, approximately UAH 200 million has been raised since the inception. These funds were used to procure a heavy-type pyrotechnic machine, three light-type pyrotechnic machines, and two tractor units for the SESU. The State Special Transport Service received purchased «Trembita» metal detectors, 400 protective visors and aprons, and a heavy demining machine DOK-ING MV-10 purchased through co-financing.
