Demining vehicles will be repaired faster: GCS Ukraine opened a service center in Kyiv

Demining machines will be repaired faster: GCS Ukraine has opened a service centre in Kyiv. The centre provides maintenance and repair services for demining machines, reducing downtime and ensuring that equipment is always in operational condition.

"Equipment downtime is a critical problem in demining — when a machine is out of service, the territory remains dangerous. The opening of a service centre in Kyiv means that repairs will take days instead of weeks, and operators can keep their machines in the field," said Ihor Bezkaravainyi, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.

The service centre is equipped with specialised tools and a stock of spare parts for the most common types of demining machines. The team includes qualified engineers and mechanics with experience in maintaining heavy equipment.

"Previously, many repairs required sending machines abroad or waiting for specialists and parts from overseas. Now, with a local service centre, we can resolve most issues on site, significantly reducing turnaround time," noted the GCS Ukraine representative.

The centre provides a full range of services — from scheduled maintenance to major repairs. It also offers training for operators and mechanics on proper equipment care and troubleshooting.

"The localisation of service infrastructure is just as important as the localisation of production. When we can maintain and repair equipment locally, the entire demining system becomes more reliable and efficient," emphasised the Deputy Minister.
