Record demining application: HDC successfully conducted tenders for clearance of nearly 8 thousand hectares

A record application for demining: the Centre for Humanitarian Demining has successfully conducted an auction for the clearance of almost 8,000 hectares. This is the largest single procurement of demining services in Ukraine's history.
"Almost 8,000 hectares in a single procurement — this is unprecedented. It demonstrates both the scale of the demand and the capacity of our procurement system to handle large-scale projects," said Ihor Bezkaravainyi, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.
The auction was held in the Prozorro system with participation from multiple certified operators. The competitive bidding ensured a fair price for the services.
"Record procurement requires record capacity. We carefully assessed whether our operators have the resources to handle this volume and ensured that the work will be completed within the established timeframes," explained the Centre representative.
The area covers agricultural land in one of the most contaminated regions. Its clearance will return a significant agricultural area to productive use.
"We are scaling up — from lots of dozens of hectares to lots of thousands. This is exactly the trajectory we need to achieve our strategic goals," emphasised the Deputy Minister.
