December 10, 2025
Results of humanitarian demining for November: significant progress in clearing territories and returning land to productive use was achieved during the month. The summary was presented by the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.
During November, mine action operators cleared thousands of hectares of agricultural and other land from explosive ordnance. The work was carried out in the most contaminated regions — Kharkiv, Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions.
"November was a productive month for humanitarian demining. We see a consistent increase in the pace of work thanks to increased operational capacities — more operators, more equipment, more specialists," noted Ihor Bezkaravainyi, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.
Among the key achievements of the month: the commissioning of new demining machines, the certification of new mine action operators, and the expansion of the agricultural land demining compensation programme.
Special attention was paid to the progress of the compensation programme for farmers. Several new auctions were held, contracts were signed, and operators began demining new plots of agricultural land.
"We continue to consistently implement the National Mine Action Strategy. Every month we see progress — both in cleared areas and in the development of institutional capacities. Our goal is to return 80% of contaminated lands to productive use within 10 years, and we are moving towards this goal," emphasised the Deputy Minister.
