Over 7,000 hectares cleared through the state compensation program: humanitarian demining results

Ukraine will receive six robotic demining systems from France. The transfer agreement was reached during bilateral consultations, and the systems will be used for humanitarian demining of Ukrainian territories.
"Robotic systems are the future of humanitarian demining. They allow territory clearance to be performed without putting people at risk. France's six systems will significantly strengthen our capacity in this direction," said Ihor Bezkaravainyi, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.
The robotic systems are designed for remote clearance of territories contaminated with explosive ordnance. They can be operated from a safe distance, minimising the risk to sappers.
"France has been a consistent partner of Ukraine in the mine action sector. The transfer of robotic systems is an important contribution to the safety of Ukrainian sappers and the acceleration of territory clearance," noted the French representative.
The systems will be transferred to the State Emergency Service and certified mine action operators. Personnel who will operate the robotic systems will undergo specialised training.
"We are grateful to France for this important support. Robotic systems will be deployed in the most dangerous areas where manual work poses the highest risk to sappers," emphasised the Deputy Minister.
