Serhiy Prytula Foundation handed over mine detection equipment to SESU

Kharkiv developers presented a Ukrainian machine for humanitarian demining with remote control. The HART 5100 machine was developed by XTI Engineering and is a fully Ukrainian-made heavy demining machine.

The presentation was attended by First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine — Minister of Economy Yuliia Svyrydenko, Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov, Director of the Centre for Humanitarian Demining Volodymyr Baida, Head of the Mine Action Centre Colonel Yevhenii Biriukov, representatives of mine action operators and other Ukrainian manufacturers.

"A year ago, I was at the factory that produces these machines. At that time, they were just an idea. Now they are a finished product that works in the fields. Serial production is ahead. And this is not just the story of one manufacturer. This is an example of how dynamically the entire industry is developing. In 2022, we did not have a single Ukrainian demining machine. Now there are about a dozen manufacturers creating various types of machines and equipment," said Yuliia Svyrydenko.

Most of the components and all electronics are developed and manufactured directly at XTI Engineering. To create the HART 5100, the Kharkiv developers also engage other Ukrainian enterprises. Individual parts for the machine were manufactured by Kharkiv factories, and radiators on future serial models will be supplied by manufacturers from Sumy. XTI Engineering has developed its own remote control system that allows the machine to be operated from a distance of 600 metres, with the possibility of extending it to one kilometre.

The cost of such a demining machine in the basic configuration is approximately 500 thousand dollars. The developers, in cooperation with one of the Ukrainian banks, also launched the option of leasing the HART 5100. This enables mine action operators who cannot immediately purchase the machine to do so by paying in instalments.

The machine has already undergone factory testing, received state certification, and is being prepared for serial production.

The HART 5100 demining machine has the following specifications:

Remote control — up to 600 m, with the possibility of increasing the range to 1 km when using a repeater. Equipped with a surveillance camera system with a wide viewing angle. Working speed — 1.5 km/h. In one working day, the machine can demine over 2 hectares. Soil processing depth — up to 300 mm. Interchangeable equipment allows adaptation to different soil types.
