The Cabinet of Ministers approved the list of mine action activities in accordance with the Law

The Government has approved mine action activity types and their correspondence to economic activity types. This decision formalises the classification of mine action activities within the national system of economic activity types, which simplifies regulatory accounting and the operation of companies in the sector.

"The formalisation of mine action activity types is an important step in structuring the sector. Now mine action companies have clearly defined economic activity codes, which simplifies registration, reporting, and interaction with state authorities," said Ihor Bezkaravainyi, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.

The approved classification includes all key types of mine action: non-technical survey, technical survey, clearance, mine risk education, and related activities. Each type has been assigned a corresponding economic activity code.

"When the sector was just forming, companies had to work under activity codes that did not fully correspond to what they actually did. Now this discrepancy has been eliminated," explained the Deputy Minister.

The decision will also simplify the process of licensing and certification of operators, as well as the procurement of demining services through the Prozorro system. Clear classification enables more accurate identification and selection of service providers.

"This is one of those regulatory decisions that may not be very visible to the public but has a significant practical impact on the sector's efficiency. An orderly regulatory framework is the foundation for sustainable development," noted Bezkaravainyi.
