National Mine Action Strategy adopted by the Verkhovna Rada

Japan has ordered demining equipment from Ukrainian enterprises, which it will hand over to the State Emergency Service. This is an important step in the localisation of demining equipment production in Ukraine and the development of bilateral cooperation.

"This is a unique situation — Japan, an advanced technological country, orders demining equipment from Ukrainian manufacturers. This is a testament to the quality and competitiveness of Ukrainian developments. Equipment produced by Ukrainian enterprises will go to Ukrainian sappers through Japanese support," said Ihor Bezkaravainyi, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.

The order includes several items of equipment designed for humanitarian demining. Ukrainian manufacturers will produce the equipment in accordance with international standards and technical specifications agreed with the Japanese side.

"Supporting the localisation of production in Ukraine is one of our priorities. When we can combine our financial support with Ukraine's manufacturing capabilities, it creates a sustainable model that benefits all parties," stated the Japanese representative.

The equipment will be produced at Ukrainian enterprises and, after quality checks and acceptance, will be handed over to the State Emergency Service for use in humanitarian demining operations.

"This is exactly the local production model that we are developing — international partners finance the procurement of equipment that is manufactured in Ukraine. This creates jobs, supports the economy, and builds sustainable domestic capacity," emphasised the Deputy Minister.
