'Step by Step' campaign: UNITED24 raised $1.5 million for humanitarian demining

Ihor Bezkaravainyi has become co-chair of the Sectoral Working Group on Humanitarian Demining. The appointment reflects the Deputy Minister's leadership role in coordinating Ukraine's mine action efforts with international partners.

"The co-chairmanship of the Sectoral Working Group is both an honour and a responsibility. The SWG is the main platform for coordinating international support for humanitarian demining in Ukraine, and I am committed to ensuring that it continues to deliver results," said Ihor Bezkaravainyi.

The Sectoral Working Group brings together the Government of Ukraine and international partners to discuss progress, challenges, and priorities in the mine action sector. Regular meetings ensure continuous coordination and alignment.

"The SWG has proven to be an effective coordination mechanism. Under the co-chairmanship, we will continue to focus on the priorities outlined in the National Strategy and ensure that international support is aligned with Ukraine's needs," noted the Deputy Minister.

The SWG was established at the initiative of the Government of Ukraine and has become one of the key mechanisms for managing international support for humanitarian demining.

"Effective coordination is the foundation of effective mine action. The SWG ensures that all partners work towards common goals and that resources are used efficiently," emphasised Bezkaravainyi.
