The Ministry of Economy and the Serhiy Prytula Foundation are joining forces to accelerate humanitarian demining in Ukraine. The partnership aims to mobilise additional resources and public engagement for mine action.
"The Serhiy Prytula Foundation has demonstrated an exceptional ability to mobilise Ukrainian society for important causes. By combining the Ministry's coordination capacity with the Foundation's fundraising and outreach capabilities, we can significantly accelerate demining," said Ihor Bezkaravainyi, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.
The partnership provides for joint fundraising campaigns, procurement of demining equipment, and awareness-raising activities. The Foundation will leverage its wide network and public trust to attract additional funding.
"Humanitarian demining is a cause that unites all Ukrainians. We are committed to using our platform and the trust of our donors to help clear Ukrainian land from mines and explosive ordnance," noted the Foundation representative.
The collaboration will focus on priority projects in the most contaminated regions and will complement state and international funding with resources mobilised from Ukrainian society.
"This partnership is a powerful signal — Ukrainian society is not waiting for others to solve the problem. Ukrainians are actively contributing to making their country safe," emphasised the Deputy Minister.
The cooperation was formalised through a memorandum that defines the areas and mechanisms of interaction between the Ministry of Economy and the Foundation.
