The state compensation program for agricultural land demining launched

Poland has allocated 2.5 million zlotys (approximately 637 thousand US dollars) to support mine action in Ukraine. The corresponding agreement was signed between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine. The allocated funds will be directed to strengthening the safety of the population and supporting demining operations.

"Poland consistently supports Ukraine in all aspects, including in the field of mine action. The allocated funds will strengthen UNDP's capacity in Ukraine to help protect civilians from the threat of explosive ordnance," said the representative of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The funds will be used for several key areas: purchasing demining equipment, training mine action specialists, conducting mine risk education for the population in contaminated communities, and supporting innovation in the demining sector.

"We are grateful to Poland for this important contribution. Every investment in mine action in Ukraine saves lives and accelerates the country's recovery. These funds will be directed to where they are most needed," noted the UNDP representative.

Poland is one of Ukraine's active partners in the field of humanitarian demining. In addition to direct financial support, Poland provides expert assistance and participates in international coordination mechanisms for mine action.

Ukraine remains one of the most mine-contaminated countries in the world. According to the Ministry of Economy, approximately 30% of Ukraine's territory may be contaminated with explosive ordnance, which poses a threat to the lives of millions of people and hinders economic recovery.
