Training vouchers: Ukrainians will be able to master the profession of deminer at state expense

Training vouchers: Ukrainians will be able to master even more professions and specialties at the state's expense. The Government has expanded the list of professions available under the voucher programme, including specialties in the mine action sector.

"The training voucher programme is an effective tool for professional development. We have expanded the list of available professions, including mine action specialties — deminer, mine detection dog handler, non-technical survey specialist. Now Ukrainians can obtain these professions at the state's expense," said the Deputy Minister of Economy.

The programme provides vouchers covering the full cost of training in the mine action sector. Training is conducted at certified educational institutions and training centres that have the necessary equipment and qualified instructors.

"The mine action sector urgently needs new specialists. The voucher programme solves two problems simultaneously — it provides people with an opportunity to obtain a new, in-demand profession and fills the cadre needs of mine action operators," explained the Ministry representative.

To obtain a voucher, applicants need to submit an application through the State Employment Centre. Training programmes last from several weeks to several months depending on the specialty and include both theoretical and practical components.

The programme is aimed at various target groups: military veterans, internally displaced persons, people who have lost their jobs, and all Ukrainians wishing to retrain. Special conditions are provided for people with disabilities.

Since the programme's launch, hundreds of people have received vouchers for training in mine action specialties, and many of them have already been employed by certified operators. The Ministry plans to further expand the programme and increase the number of available training slots.
