Humanitarian demining: December 2023 results

The heavy demining machine DOK-ING MV-10, assembled and partially localised in Ukraine, has undergone testing at a testing ground. The Croatian-made machine with Ukrainian components successfully passed tests confirming its suitability for humanitarian demining.
"The DOK-ING MV-10, assembled in Ukraine with a growing share of local components, has demonstrated its capabilities at the testing ground. This confirms that the localisation strategy works — we can produce high-quality demining equipment in Ukraine," said Ihor Bezkaravainyi, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.
The testing included tests for mine resistance, soil processing effectiveness, remote control reliability, and operational safety. The machine demonstrated compliance with all requirements of the national certification standards.
"DOK-ING has a long history of producing world-class demining machines. By localising the assembly and production of components in Ukraine, we strengthen our domestic capacity and reduce dependence on imports," noted the DOK-ING representative.
Ukrainian enterprises produce a growing range of components for the MV-10 — from metal structures to electronic systems. The goal is to progressively increase the localisation level to the point where the machine could be considered largely Ukrainian-made.
"Every step in localisation is an investment in the long-term sustainability of the mine action sector. It creates jobs, builds expertise, and ensures that Ukraine will have the industrial base to maintain and repair its demining fleet independently," emphasised the Deputy Minister.
